Born in Omaha, Nebraska on August 30, 1930. American business magnate, investor, and philanthropist, Warren Buffett had an estimated net worth of $78.5 billion as of 2017, according to Forbes. This declined to $86.4 billion as of October 2018. He is the third richest person in the world. Called the “Wizard of Omaha” or “Oracle of Omaha”, Buffett served as an investment salesman at Buffett-Falk & Co. from 1951 to 1954. Between 1954 and 1970, he worked as a securities analyst, general partner, CEO, and chairman. In 1962 he invested and ultimately chaired a textile manufacturing firm Berkshire Hathaway and became a millionaire having a total asset of $7 million from his business partnerships. During his millionaire heyday, Buffett had done as many businesses as possible including trading, stock acquisitions, and several investments. By the time he reached 60 years of age, Buffett had become a paper billionaire thanks to the sale of class A shares from Berkshire Hathaway whose subsidiaries included railroads, insurance and energy; $182 billion in revenue and $19.5 billion in net income in 2013. In 2014, the second richest man in America generously donated Berkshire shares worth $2.8 billion to both the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and his children’s foundations. Warren Buffett married his then deceased wife Susan Buffett in 1952 and the couple had three children.
