About Thibaut Courtois

Born in Bree, Belgium on May 11, 1992. Belgian professional footballer and Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has an estimated net worth of $10 million with an annual salary of around €3 million. Regardless of his young age, Courtois is considered to be one of the world’s best goalkeepers. He has gained his position as a goalkeeper since he was seven when he was selected by Racing Genk. He began his professional career at the age of 16 when he played against Gent. He was one of the main players who helped Genk to achieve the Belgian Pro League 2010–11 season. There he was awarded Goalkeeper of the Year and Genk’s Player of the Year. Without revealing the amount, Chelsea signed the young Belgian goalkeeper with a five-year deal in July 2011. Shortly after he was loaned to Atlético Madrid with where he spent 3 seasons and won the 2012–13 and 2013–14 Ricardo Zamora Trophies before finally returning to Chelsea in June 2014 as a stand-in player. Courtois became the youngest Belgian goalkeeper to ever join the senior team when he began his first national team career in October 2011 against France in a friendly match. Since then, he has made more than 30 caps for the national squad in small and major tournaments including the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
