American musician, singer and songwriter Robert Pollard, who is widely known for being the leader of the indie rock band Guided by Voices, has an estimated net worth of $20 million. Pollard’s career started in his local heavy metal cover band Anacrusis while he also wrote his own music. In 1983, he founded Guided by Voices which produced self-financed albums and which has to date had more than 20 albums and a host of unofficial releases. After running the band for over two decades, they broke up in 2004 before reuniting back in 2010; however, they disbanded once again in 2014. Pollard is regarded as one of the most prolific songwriters of all time, he has over 1,700 songs registered with the BMI and he was named the 78th greatest living songwriter by Paste magazine in 2006.
