Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in January 1963. American politician and physician, Rand Paul has an estimated net worth of $2.5 million. He has been the Republican U.S. Senator from Kentucky since 2011. Sen. Paul earned a medical degree at the Duke University School of Medicine, he specializes in ophthalmology (medical study of the eyes). He first began his medical practice in 1993 when he joined several clinics for over a decade before founding his very first optical clinic in 2007. Paul supports the Tea Party Movement and a vocal critic of the Federal Reserve System, he also oppose NSA mass surveillance on U.S. citizens, and abridged government expenditures and tax. He publicly and formally announced his candidacy for the 2016 United States Presidential election on April 7, 2015. He was the receiver of the Melvin Jones Fellow Award for Dedicated Humanitarian Services from the Lions Club International Foundation. His father, Ron Paul, was also a doctor and U.S. Representative.
