Italian fashion designer, entrepreneur and head designer of Prada and Miu Miu, Miuccia Prada has a net worth of $3.5 billion (that is correct, it reads “billion”) as of 2015, according to Forbes. It declined to $2.9 billion as of October 18, 2018. The Milanese fashion billionaire is granddaughter of Mario Prada, founder and the original designer of Prada.
Miuccia Prada worked her way into the fashion realm in 1978 by taking over the family’s luxury goods company. At the same time, she fell in love and found a true partner both in life and business with her husband Patrizio Bertelli. Together they sat at the head of a fashion empire in the making and Miuccia herself became notorious for her detail orientated nature she gave the fashion world a new reason to swoon in 1989 with her first women’s wear launch. The luxury brand continues to take on the world with one minimal, classic, chic and comfortable fashion piece at a time. Miuccia is credited for recreating the brand’s image.
She was born Maria Bianchi on May 10, 1949 in Milan, Italy, she was adopted by her aunt and changed her name to Miuccia Prada in the 1980s. The youngest of three, Miuccia attended Liceo Classico Berchet high school in Milan and holds a Ph.D. in political science.
