British businessman, politician and amateur racing driver Lord Paul Drayson has an estimated net worth of $118 million (£75m). Drayson served as Minister of State for Defence Equipment and Support between 2005 and 2007 and Minister of State for Science and Innovation from 2008 to 2010 under the New Labour governments of Tony Blair and Gordon Brown. He had been a substantial donor to the party before receiving his peerage and place in government, donating £1 million between 2002 and 2005.
Lord Drayson made his money through his pharmaceutical company, PowderJect Pharmaceuticals, which he sold in 2003 for £100 million. Since losing his ministerial role at the 2010 election Drayson has moved into green motor-racing technology through his company Drayson Green Technologies.
