Born in Townsville, Australia on July 3, 1971. Australian publisher and journalist, Julian Paul Assange earns an estimated net worth of $1.3 million. Prior to his journalism career, Assange was a prolific hacker under the alias of Mendax in 1987. Together with two other hackers, he established an ethical hacking squad dubbed as the “International Subversives” which he used for hacking the U.S and Australian’s primary governmental departments and some private sectors. In 1991, his life as a hacker came to a halt when he was detained in Australia but his crime only resulted in a fine instead of incarceration. From 1994 to 2000, he began working as a programmer creating and co-creating several databases and systems. He co-authored Earthmen Technology back in 1998. His best-known work so far is the establishment of WikiLeaks, an international online news media that circulates around confidential information provided by unidentified sources and individuals. He apparently earned $1.3 million from authoring an autobiography, and singed a $800,000 as well as a $522,000 contracts with his American publisher Alfred A. Knopf and Canongate respectively. Assange wedded his ex-wife when he was 18 and the pair had a son, who is now a software designer.
