Jidenna formed a rap group and began writing, producing, and arranging music since his high school time. He attended Milton Academy and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity from Stanford University before relocating to Los Angeles, Oakland, Atlanta and Brooklyn.
Jidenna signed deal with Wonderland Records and released his very first EP The Eephus in 2015. His debut single “Classic Man” (feat. Roman GianArthur) peaked at #13 on the US R&B charts and #81 on the Billboard Hot 100, while his second single “Yoga” (feat. Janelle Monae) hit #14 on the US R&B charts. The musician is also founding member of the social club Fear & Fancy and has worked with many artists such as Roman GianArthur, St. Beauty, Deep Cotton and Janelle Monae.
Jdenna’s father late Oliver Mobisson was Igbo Nigerian who was a scientist and professor of computer science at Enugu State University, Nigeria; he designed and built the indigenous personal computers . His mother Tama Mobisson is an American accountant.
