Born in San Antonio, Texas in February 1949. American humorist Jack Handey has an estimated net worth of $2 million. He began his career as an editor of his high school newspaper and wrote for the San Antonio-Express News. He made his debut in comic writing with comedian Steve Martin and then moved on to land a position as a writer for Saturday Night Live in 1985 and continued to work there until 2002. He was also the writer of the TV series The New Show in 1984 and Our Time in 1985. In 1984, National Lampoon licensed and distributed the first Jack Handey’s Deep Thoughts which was a part of SNL from 1991 to 1998. His other SNL’s segments were Unfrozen Caveman Lawyer and Toonces the cat. His short comedian works have been featured in The New Yorker issues. Thanks to his Deep Thoughts by Jack Handey and his Fuzzy Memories and My Big Thick Novel shorts, Handey has made a name for himself in the showbiz. On July 16, 2013, the comic writer released his first novel The Stench of Honolulu. Handey was awarded two Primetime Emmy Award for Saturday Night Live. He lives with his wife in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
