He plays as a defender for Universidad de Chile and his country’s national team. Suarez started off his career in 2003 joining the youth academy of Unión San Felipe for where he played until 2006 when he made a breakthrough into the club’s senior team. There, he played in only 69 games in five years as he was consecutively loaned out to Brazilian side Corinthians, Chacarita Juniors of Argentina, Chilean outfit O’Higgins, and Portuguese side Olhanense.
