Late Swedish fiction and screenplay writer, Astrid Lindgren, who is widely recognized for her children’s book series which featured Pippi Longstocking, had an estimated net worth of $20 million. Lindgren is also the 18th most translated author as of May 2013 in the world as well as the third most translated children’s author. Her books have sold more than 140 million copies globally. Apart from her successful Pippi Longstocking series, her other hits include Karlsson-on-the-Roof series, Bill Bergson series, Emil of Lonneberga, Madicken, Ronia the Robber’s Daughter, Seacrow Island, The Six Bullerby Children, Mio, My Son, and The Brothers Lionheart.
