Northern Irish singer-songwriter and musician, Van Morrison has an estimated net worth of $85 million (£50m) as of 2014, according to the Sunday Times rich list. Born George Ivan Morrison on 31 August 1945 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Morrison rose to fame in the mid-1960s as the lead singer of the Northern Irish R&B band Them. In 1967, Morrison went solo signing with Bang Records. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame, Morrison has won six Grammy Awards and and appeared on several “Greatest Artists” lists.
The Belfast-born Morrison saw the net assets of his Exile Publishing fall to £2 million in 2010 and it has now been dissolved. In October 2013 he released his 34th studio album, Born to Sing: No Plan B. His companies paid him more than £11.2 million in earnings from 1995-2001.
