A Star Is Born
Spielberg and George Lucas joined forces in the 1980s and created Raiders of the Lost Ark. The movie went on to be the most popular of the year in 1981. It garnered nominations for best director. This was the second time he was nominated for the award.
From 1982 to 1985 Spielberg released Poltergeist, The Twilight Zone and The Goonies. He also appeared in Cyndi Lauper’s music video for The Goonies theme song. While the movie was nominated for many awards, none of them were for him.
Continuing to direct, in 1994 he stepped back partly to focus on DreamWorks. He and David Geffen and Jeffrey Katzenberg built the studio together. It has gone on to produce many movies.
