American American publisher Malcolm Stevenson “Steve” Forbes, Jr. has an estimated net worth of $430 million. He is the editor-in-chief of “Forbes” magazine and was Republican candidate in the 1996 and 2000 presidential primaries.
Forbes was born in Morristown, New Jersey and grew up in the town of Far Hills, New Jersey. He is the son of long-time Forbes publisher Malcolm Forbes and the grandson of B. C. Forbes, the founder of Forbes.
Forbes attended the prestigious Far Hills County Day School. He graduated from Brooks School in North Andover, Massachusetts in 1966 and from Princeton University in 1970. Forbes (with two other students) founded his first magazine “Business Today” while at Princeton. It is currently the largest student run magazine in the world. He is a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon and Alpha Kappa Psi. In the year 1985, President Ronald Reagan appointed Forbes as head of the Board of International Broadcasting, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. He entered the Republican Primaries for President of the United States in 1996 and 2000, running on a campaign to establish a flat income tax. However, he did not come close to securing the nomination. “The New Birth of Freedom: Vision of America” and “Freedom Manifesto: Why Free Markets are Moral and Big Government Isn’t” are some of the books authored by Forbes.
Forbes married Sabina Beekman in 1971. The couple has five daughters, Sabina, Roberta, Catherine, Moira and Elizabeth.
