Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Net Worth: The Emir of Kuwait has a net worth of $400 million. The fourth son of Kuwait’s 10th ruler Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, he served as Kuwait’s Foreign Minister for over 40 years, between 1963 and 2003, which made him one of the longest-serving foreign ministers in the world. Emir Sabah was Prime Minister of Kuwait from 13 July 2003 to 29 January 2006, and became Emir on 29 January 2006; appointed by the National Assembly after the crown prince deemed too ill to rule.
Unlike other royalty of gulf states, the Emir does not share in his country’s vast oil wealth; instead he receives but an annual stipend. Best known as a strong advocate for women’s right in the Middle East. The Emir is credited with the Kuwait Dinar strength which is now the strongest currency in the world. He also helped restoring Kuwait after the Iraqi invasion in 1990.
Emir Sabah married Sheikha Fatuwah, together they had four children. The Emir’s palace Dar Salwa, is named after his daughter, Sheikha Salwa, who died from breast cancer on 23 June 2002 in London.
