Born on October 28, 1944 in Bentonville, Arkansas. American businessman, Samuel Robson “Rob” Walton, has an estimated net worth of $34.6 billion. He is the eldest son of Sam Walton, founder of the world’s largest retailer Walmart. He is the company’s Chairman. Walton attended The College of Wooster and graduated from the University of Arkansas back in 1966 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration, where he was also a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He earned a juris doctor degree from the Columbia University School of Law in 1969. Following his graduation he joined the law firm that was representing Wal-Mart, Conner & Winters in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In 1978 he left Tulsa to join Wal-Mart as a senior vice president, and four years later he was made vice chairman. He was named chairman of the board of directors on April 7, 1992, two days after his father’s death. Walton is also a trustee at The College of Wooster and he, along with his siblings pledged about $2 billion to the Walton Family Foundation from 2008 to 2013. He married his first wife Melani Lowman, and remarried to Carolyn Funk and again got divorced in 2000. He has three children.
