Born in Wiesenfeld, Germany in June 1928. American sex therapist, author, and media personality Dr. Ruth Westheimer has an estimated net worth of $10 million. Westheimer emigrated to the British Mandate of Palestine at the age of 17 and later relocated to France in 1950 following her being sent to Switzerland when her father was taken by Nazis. She attended and completed her master’s degree in sociology from The New School and her Ed.D. from Teachers College, Columbia University. Westheimer then began working on NBC Radio’s WYNY-FM in 1980, landing a role as the host of the radio show Sexually Speaking. As an author she has written several books including Sexually Speaking: What Every Woman Needs to Know about Sexual Health, The Art of Making Dances, Who Am I? Where Did I Come From?, Sex For Dummies, and Dr. Ruth’s Guide for Married Lovers. In 1983 her radio show had a quarter of a million listeners and the show was nationally syndicated a year later. She also wrote a column in Playgirl magazine and was a host of The Dr. Ruth Show on Lifetime television. She also runs her website which launched in 1996. Dr. Ruth Westheimer has so far been nominated for four CableACE Awards.
