The Early Years 

At the age of 17 Ronda Rousey competed in Athen’s 2004 Olympic Games. She was the youngest Olympic competitor in Judo. She  also won two world medals for junior Judo. At the 2008 Olympics she won the bronze metal. When she was 21 years old she quit Judo and instead took up MMA a year later.

The MMA Years 

Ronda Rousey joined the world of MMA in 2010. Her signature armbar move allowed her to win every fight. The next year she became a champion in Strikeforce’s Women’s Bantanweight. She went on to join UFC and became the first woman to every win a Women’s Bantaweight Championship. For two years she successfully defended her title in UFC. This included a match with Cat Zingano in which she won in only 14 seconds. She was paid $65,000 for her presence and an additional $65,000 for winning the match. It is estimated she earned $1 million from sales of the Pay-Per-View where the match took place. Later that year, in 2015 she lost a UFC match for the first time. Her salary from June of 2014 to June of 2015 was $6.5 million.

Other Accomplishments 

Ronda Rousey is also a successful actress. She has appeared in various TV shows and movies. She also endorses Metro PCS, Monster Headphones, Reebok and Carl’s Jr. In 2014 she became involved with the WWE. She appeared on the company’s Summer Slam pay-per-view. She also appeared at a WWE televised show in 2015 where she participated in a segment on the show. It has been implied that she will return.
