Born in Tamworth, Australia on May 15, 1969. Matt attended Grantham High School but decided to drop out to pursue a career in cooking. At the age of 15, Matt Moran became a chef and had his apprenticeship at Le Belle Helene Restaurant where he learned about the art of making classic French cuisine. Moran opened his first restaurant The Paddington Inn Bistro in 1991 with Peter Sullivan and his wife, criminal novelist and lawyer Sarah Hopkins.
