Career Beginnings 

Mario Lopez first began his career in 1984 in the short lived TV series a.k.a. Pablo. Upon the cancellation of that show he was cast on Kids Incorporated as both a dancer and a drummer. After Kids Incorporated he moved on to Saved By The Bell, beginning in 1989. He spent five years on the show before moving on to other projects.

Host Duties

Mario Lopez has been hosting shows since 1992 when he was tapped for the first season of Name Your Adventure, an NBC show. In 2002 he went on to host Pet Star, a show on Animal Planet. Lopez took the hosting job in spite of his allergy to cats.

Later TV Roles 

In 1997 Lopez was cast as the title role in Breaking The Surface: The Greg Louganis Story. In 1998 he played the role of Bobby Cruz on Pacific Blue, a USA Network show. After two seasons on Pacific Blue, Lopez took guest starring roles on other shows before being cast in The Bold and the Beautiful. Four months into filming he was released from the show.

Roles In Radio 

Mario Lopez is no stranger to radio broadcasting. He has been hosting On With Mario Lopez, for Premiere Radio since 2012. The show is broadcast for free on IHeartRadio. Since 2014, he has also hosted a show called IHeartRadio Countdown.

Author
