Lee was born on January 29 1928 in Shunde, China. He is the majority owner of Henderson Land Development, a property conglomerate with interests in hotels, properties, internet services and restaurants. He is the founder, chairman and managing director of the company.
Lee is an investor in Hong Kong’s iconic International Financial Center. He chairs many successful companies in Hong Kong. He is the chairman of Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited and Miramar Hotel and Investment.
Lee has been involved in many mainland projects in the region. He is the Vice Chairman and Independent Non-Executive Director of Sun Hung Kai Properties. He is on the board of Hong Kong Ferry (Holdings) Limited and the Bank of East Asia Limited.
Lee Shau-Kee is involved in many philanthropic endeavors. He is one of the main sponsors of the HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity.
