Born in Nassau, Bahamas in August 1959. Bahamian singer Johnny Kemp had an estimated net worth of $2 million. He made his debut career as a singer in nightclubs when he was just 13 years of age then relocated to New York to join the band Kinky Fox. In 1986, he released his self-titled first studio album which culminated in the hit “Just Another Lover”. A year later, he released his second album Secrets of Flying which had two hit singles “Dancin’ with Myself” and “Just Got Paid”. Both singles climbed the Top 5 on the US Billboard R&B chart and “Just Got Paid” ranked #1. Kemp was featured on Keith Sweat’s Sweat Hotel Live DVD in 2007 who was initially offered the instrumental track that would turn out to be “Just Got Paid” but rejected it. Kemp was invited as a featured performer for the NJS4E event on September 8, 2007. In 2015, he planned on performing on the Fantastic Voyage cruise. However, his body was seen floating in the water of Montego Bay in Jamaica and he was reported dead on April 16, 2015 at the age of 55. He was married with two sons.
