Born in New Bedford, Massachusetts in January 1956 to a poor Jewish family. American businessman Joe Lacob has an estimated net worth of $400 million. He is the owner of the NBA’s Golden State Warriors in the NBA and has collaborated with Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. Lacob attended and earned his degree from the University of California, Irvine and pursued his master’s at University of California, Los Angeles with degree in public health in addition to his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. In 1987 the businessman became a partner at Kleiner Perkins after having worked with FHP International, Cetus Corporation, and Booz, Allen & Hamilton. He was also one among the primary inventors in the from-failed-to-successful professional women’s basketball league the American Basketball Association. In 2006 Lacob became minority owner of the Boston Celtics and he then went on to buy the Golden State Warriors in 2010 with a of investors for $450 million which required him to sell his interest in the Celtics.
