British businessman, Ian Taylor has an estimated net worth of $268 million (£175m) as of 2015, according to the Sunday Times rich list. Born Ian Roper Taylor in 1956. Taylor is the Chief Executive Officer and President of Vitol, a company he joined in 1985 after working in various positions in shipping, operations, and trading at Shell. Under Taylor, the oil trader Vitol had 2012 revenues of $303 billion and profits of $1.2 billion. In 2007, Taylor and his wife, Tina, set up the Taylor Family Foundation, supporting charities focusing on children and young people, and the arts. Taylor has made £1.3m in political donations in the last five years, split between the Conservatives and £550,000 in support of Scotland remaining part of the United Kingdom. Other donations include; spending exceeded £1.5 million in 2013 with the biggest gifts of £472,000 going to the Royal Opera House Foundation, £334,000 to Unicef and the Tate Foundation £250,000 and he has given the Tories £700,000 over the years.
