As president, he was in office from to May 2010 to May 2015. Before becoming the president, he has served as the Governor of Bayelsa State and as the Vice President of Nigeria. Goodluck Jonathan’s net worth is estimated to be $10 million. When he was elected Vice-President in 2007, he voluntarily revealed his personal wealth. At that time his net worth was $8.5 million. Since then, he has been criticized for not making more frequent public declarations of his wealth. Some experts have reported his net worth could be as high as $250 million. In 2014, a spokesperson of the Office of the President of Nigeria said that these were rumors and that the president regularly declares his assets as per Nigerian laws. The Office of the President dismissed the claims and threatened to sue websites that published this false information after Celebrity Net Worth estimated his wealth at $100 million.
Goodluck Jonathan lost the 2015 presidential election to Muhammadu Buhari.
