Born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota on November 29, 1942. American professional wrestling announcer and interviewer Gene Okerlund, who is well known for his work in the World Wrestling Federation and in World Championship Wrestling, has an estimated net worth of $3 million. He attended West Virginia University. Prior to his main career, Okerlund began working in radio but eventually turned to the American Wrestling Federation in 1974 where he worked up from a fill-in position to a full-fledged one. He proceeded to land a job in the World Wrestling Federation in 1984. A year later, he became WrestleMania I’s first to sing the National Anthem. He was hired by World Championship Wrestling in 1993 but came back to the WWE in 2001. Presently, he is on a lifetime deal with the WWE and responsible for promotional programs and makes infrequent appearances on TV shows. He also co-hosts Vintage Collection. He was voted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006 by Hulk Hogan. Okerlund voted Mr. T into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014 and he also landed a role in the reality series Legends’ House.
