Born in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba in March 1917. Late Cuban-American musician, actor, and television producer Desi Arnaz had an estimated net worth of $20 million. He was widely recognized for playing Ricky Ricardo character on the television series I Love Lucy and as the leader of the music band the Desi Arnaz Orchestra. Arnaz made his acting debut starring as Manuelito Lynch in the 1940 movie Too Many Girls. From 1951 to 1957, he played the role of Ricky Ricardo in the TV series I Love Lucy, and then played Ricardo character in the series The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour between 1957 and 1960. His other acting works include The Navy Comes Through, The Long, Long Trailer, Make Room for Daddy, and The Escape Artist. Being a member of Desilu Productions with Ball, Arnaz served as executive producing the TV series I Love Lucy, The Ann Sothern Show, Willy, The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour, The Lucy Show, and the Mothers-In-Law. In 1956 he claimed a Golden Globe Award for Best TV Show and four years later he got stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for both Motion Picture and Television. Arnaz married Lucille Ball in 1940 but the couple got divorced in 1960. Later, he wedded Edith Mack Hirsch. At the age of 69 he died on December 2, 1986 from lung cancer.
