Celine Dion Net Worth

With a net worth of $630 million, Celine Dion has been singing since she was a young child. Her first public performance was at her brother’s wedding. By the early 1980s she was being nationally recognized for her singing ability. In 1982 she won the Yamaha World Popular Song Festival. In 1988 she successfully represented and won for Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest. Throughout the 1980s she released several French albums and made her U.S. debut in 1990.

Epic Records

Dion began the 1990s by signing a deal with Epic Records. Her 1990 U.S. debut was her Unison album. This album put her on the map in many English speaking countries. In 1996 and 1997 she released back to back albums. Falling Into You and Let’s Talk About Love went diamond on the U.S. music charts. Prior to the release of these two albums, her 1995 album D’eux sold more copies than any French album in history.

Las Vegas Residency

After taking three years off to care for her cancer stricken husband, Dion returned to the spotlight in 2002 and negotiated a new Las Vegas residency that was set to start in 2003. Her new gig had her performing a five star theatrical show at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace. It went on to gross more than any other Las Vegas residency show, at $385 million. The arena she performed in was created specifically for her residency, which came to an end in 2007 after being extended due to demand for tickets.

Awards and Accomplishments

Dion was named the Nielsen SoundScan Era’s second best US. female artist for sales of her albums. She was recognized by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry in 2003, for her European album sales which reached more than 50 million. Of all the Canadian musicians, Dion is the best selling. Worldwide her albums have sold more than 200 million copies.
