Indian businessman, investor and philanthropist Azim Premji is the chairman of Wipro Limited. He has an estimated net worth of $17.3 billion as of 2015, according to Forbes.
Azim was born on 24 July 1945 in Mumbai, India, into a Nizari Ismaili Shia Muslim family. He earned a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
In 1945, Premji’s father Muhammed Hashim Premji incorporated Western Indian Vegetable Products. In 1966, when his father passed away, Azim Premji returned home from Stanford University to take charge of Wipro.
